Description

Architectural Designer

Manages, organizes and coordinates project teams and team assignments to complete architectural projects, responsible for ensuring that production of construction documents are in concert with design intent, responsible for project schedules and budgets. Resolves complex technical/design issues and provides guidance to team. Coordinates activity and communication between project team and other disciplines. Full knowledge of architectural principles / practices.

The Architectural Designer will be responsible for:

  • Work closely with Studio Director to develop architectural solutions from conceptual level through construction documentation

  • Support preparation of conceptual designs, space plans, presentations, design development

  • Produce designs and visualizations utilizing 2D/3D software including Revit, AutoCAD, 3D StudioMax, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator

  • Monitor and mentor designers more junior than yourself

  • Coordinate with Design/Technical team and Project Manager(s)

  • Coordinate with client team, project manager, construction manager and others to develop construction details, field reports, construction documents, freehand sketches, responses to RFIs and queries

  • Read and understand construction documents

  • Responsible for coordination and quality control of design and construction documents

  • Develop Design Development and Tender/Construction Documents from original conceptual sketches

  • Manage and review the production of document sets produced between Singapore and other Gensler offices

  • Cross check scheduling and documentation

  • Provide other support as assigned

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications to be considered:

  • At least 3 years professional experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or design related field

  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and structures

  • Excellent communication skills in English, and the ability to work well with a team

  • Computer skills should include AutoCad, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp. 3DMax and Revit is a plus.

  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to manage teams and projects

  • Strong organizational skills
