Design Architect / Urban Designer

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Design Architect/ Urban Designer with significant UK and International Master Planning experience.


  • Provide leadership in conceptual design work for master planning and urban design projects and develop from feasibility through to detailed master planning.
  • Ability to work across variety of sectors including mixed use, commercial, residential, hospitality and education as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Develop visions for place making, creating new communities and the development of new cities.
  • Illustrate and present design solutions effectively through free hand sketching and computer aided design to convey intended vision to our clients including architectural design solutions.
  • Evaluate and take into consideration economic, social, regulatory and physical factors affecting planning and design decisions for proposed projects.
  • Have a good understanding of the UK planning system and lead the submission of design work and related planning documentation including Design and Access Statements and Design Guidelines.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives and research and share findings within the firm and externally with clients, potential clients and consultants.
  • Liaise with clients, government agencies and project stakeholders requiring excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Work closely with Directors and project team to ensure timely delivery of high quality master planning projects within budget.
  • Inspire and promote collaboration across disciplines to spark innovation, motivate talent and support design experimentation across the office.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A background in Architect is preferred with solid experienced in Master Planner
  • Master’s Degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning or foreign equivalent
  • Exceptional design talent and technical knowledge teamed with a passion for seeking innovative and creative design solutions for ever challenging design propositions
  • Thorough understanding of UK and international planning standards and requirements
  • High level of verbal, written and graphic communication skills including freehand sketching and variety of computer aided mediums, including Revit, Auto CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up & 3DS Max
  • Good team spirit. Strong sense of personal responsibility and dedication to their work and the work of their team
  • Proactive approach to progress our design by seeking new ways to innovate, grow our business and inspire the team
