Description

Gensler is one of the world’s leading architecture, design and planning firms. Our work reflects an enduring commitment to sustainability and the belief that design is one of the most powerful strategic tools for securing lasting competitive advantage.  At Gensler, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovation, problem solving and design excellence.

At Gensler, design is at the center of every project. Design Directors are a select group responsible for leading the creative efforts on specific projects. Design Directors bring new approaches to the design process and strategy, they coach and develop next-generation talent, and they represent the firm in the larger design community.

Community Studio:

Gensler is seeking a design leader for the Community Studio in Houston.  The studio’s market focus includes Education, Science, Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Mission Critical and Planning and Urban Design.

If you —

are an original thinker; yet you listen and actively collaborate with others;

not only enjoy staying current but promote curiosity, enthusiasm, and confidence;

foster creativity and a commitment to design excellence within your studio and on your projects;

engage clients, so yours is the company they want to keep;

recognize, recruit, and nurture the best talent;

give leadership, both inside and outside your firm;

support and strengthen the vision, values, and culture of your firm;

want to be part of a firm that believes that design empowers people and transforms organizations …

then Gensler would like to meet you.

Design Directors work in concert with other colleagues to achieve goals related to project quality and process, while satisfying client requirements — a hallmark of all Gensler projects.

As a member of Houston’s Community Studio leadership team, the Design Director will collaborate with other practice leaders in the South-Central Region and across the firm-wide platform to enhance the culture for design, elevate the quality of design, and achieve recognition for clients and the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design team through all phases of projects
  • Act as the primary design interface with clients
