Design Strategist :

We’re looking for a Design Strategist who is passionate about  tackling tough problems using unconventional insights into people, processes and the places where they collide. An ideal fit would be someone who has a design background and  who can inspire people around them, and brings a fresh perspective to their work, and work collaboratively within individual studios and across geographies.
As a design strategist, you will address real estate and facilities, the workplace, information solutions and business strategy…all with the objective of improving organizational performance.Ideal candidates possess a background in designing for the built environment and have demonstrated exceptional management through past academic and/or professional achievement.

Responsibilities :

  • Collect qualitative data and qualitative feedback from end users.
  • Synthesis of information and the impact on space supply and occupancy demand data, business goals, and organizational culture .
  • Develop creative design concepts that illustrate options of how the organization can be supported.
  • Create powerful ways to visualize and express the tradeoffs associated with various concept and planning scenarios .
  • Assist in the information design of data and findings for client reports and presentations.
  • Interface with Gensler design studios to ensure the seamless transition of design strategy to design implementation.
  • Develop proposals, including scope and compensation.
  • Collaborate with client’s other third party service providers including real estate brokers, consultants, project managers, etc.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Master’s degree in architecture, interior design, environmental design, urban design, real estate, design strategy, organizational development, organizational psychology, or similar fields
  • A background in the design of the built environment (architecture, interior design, urban design, etc).
  • Professional experience of 2-3 years related to your field of study; your experience may include relevant internships and/or co-op experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong graphic and persuasive writing skills.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and processes.
  • Solid presentation development ability.
  • An interest in user research, design strategy and space programming.
  • A high degree of flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are critical.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is a must.
  • Candidates should be self-starters, quick-learners, and exude an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • The following technical skills :
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign).
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Basic skills in Sketch-Up and other 3D and multi-media technologies is a plus.
