**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Director, Transit & Rail Lead for immediate employment for the Chicago, IL office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.



The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:



+ Overall management of the Midwest Region (Eastern Midwest Area) Transit and Rail Practice

+ Develop business opportunities to support the entire staff

+ Oversee compliance with all AECOM policies and procedures

+ Act as Project Manager or Capture Manger on major transit and rail pursuits, including all aspects of client and design-team management of railroad projects

+ Coordinate the planning, environmental process, design, or construction phase of assigned projects

+ Manage the preparation of plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates

+ Plan, organize, and supervise project teams to ensure contract performance

+ Ensure the delivery of high quality technical products, on-time and on-budget

+ Strengthen client relationships and possibly function as a Client Account Manager for key rail and transit clients

+ Work closely with our National Rail/Transit teams, primarily focused in the Midwest rail and transit market

+ Assist with strategic planning, work-sharing across offices, staff recruiting, and staff mentoring



**Minimum Requirements**



+ Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

+ 10+ years of experience working with/for Class I railroad or similar directly related experience

+ Proven record of developing new clients

+ Ability to discern new markets and develop business in those areas

+ Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills

+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

+ Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

+ Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

+ Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

+ Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively



**Preferred Qualifications**



+ 15+ years of experience in the transit and/or rail industry
