**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a self-motivated Engineer / Scientist with skills in Geology, Geoscience, and / or Environmental Science to join our Jacksonville, FL Environmental team! The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, good writing and time-use skills, and ability to work in a team environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

+ Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

+ Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

+ Data reduction, review and interpretation

+ Drafting of technical

+ Review reports and field notes to ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems

+ Development of site specific SHE Safety Plans

+ Completion of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) paperwork and observations

+ Sampling of various media including soil, groundwater, surface water and soil gas

+ Installation of groundwater monitoring wells and vapor monitoring points

+ Oversight of subcontractors performing various tasks

+ Interaction with the public as a representative of AECOM

+ Calibration of field instrumentation and documentation

+ Completion of lithological descriptions of soils from drilling activities

+ Field preservation of samples in preparation for laboratory analysis

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)

+ Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry

+ 1-5 years of experience in the environmental consulting field

+ Good Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

+ Excellent writing/communication skills and ability to work within given deadlines

+ Ability to work within a team as well as an individual and capable of taking directions/constructive criticism

+ Valid Driver’s License in good standing; ability to travel locally with occasional overnight travel required.

+ Attention to detail and desire to complete quality work products

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Familiarity with FDEP field sampling procedures

+ Familiarity with FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program procedures

+ 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training
