We are currently seeking an Experience Design Project Manager to join our team environmental graphics team in Houston. As an Experience Design Project Manager, in partnership with delivery and design team members is accountable for project financial performance and team communication.  Manages one or more projects during all phases of a project until completion.  Directs employees and consultants at all levels to ensure that proper steps and procedures are taken and that work is completed as planned, budgeted, scheduled and in conformance with the design intent for large scale environmental graphic design projects for a variety of clients and building types.


  • Prepares and maintains project budgets and schedules.

  • Prepares client and consultant agreements.

  • Produces written documentation related to project.

  • Prepares proposals and participates in interviews.

  • Manages Experience Design staffing and workplans.

  • Oversees coordination and quality assurance of documents required to complete a project or phase of a project.

  • Day to day client contact.

  • Provides technical support and consistent project communications to team.

  • May be responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.

  • May creates unique effective designs for wayfinding, environmental and graphic design programs that meet the needs of the project.

  • Understand target audiences cognitive, cultural, physical and social environment to lead in the planning and executing of design.

  • Leads mock-up design reviews for errors before the final production or client presentation.

  • Participates in marketing efforts with other senior staff such as client interviews and proposal preparation.

  • Assist in all phases of project planning and implementation including concept design, design development, construction development, construction documents, bidding and fabrication for wayfinding/signage and graphic/ branding projects in the studio.

  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Required Skills

  • Prepares and maintains project budgets and schedules.

  • Thorough working knowledge of the environmental graphic design process.

  • Knowledge of corporate branding, print design and multi-media applications required.

  • Advanced skills with standard business applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook);

  • Proficiency in Mac-based studio utilizing Adobe Creative Suite for design.

  • Ability to provide excellent, consistent service to internal and external clients in a supportive and professional manner.

  • Ability to anticipate, identify and troubleshoot problems and recognize alternative actions.

  • Must possess design talent, creative energy, management and organizational skills.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to advance conceptual ideas into complete construction documents and specifications.

  • Ability to provide design and management expertise to produce and direct all aspects of project implementation.

  • Must be able to organize the own works and work of others.

  • Knowledge about design elements, such as color and composition.

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment and must possess good interpersonal skills.

  • Coaching and supervisor skills.

  • Conflict and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to simultaneously orchestrate teams across various projects and effectively meet deadlines.

  • Ability to motivate design talent to perform to optimum levels.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree in architecture, graphic design, industrial design or related field.

  • 10 plus years of project management experience in the design, development and implementation of large scale environmental graphic design projects for a variety of clients and building types.

  • Prior experience with an architectural or graphic design firm in related role.

  • LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.
