Interior Designer (Hospitality - Intermediate)

Description

Gensler New York is looking for an experienced and creative Intermediate Designer for its Hospitality Interiors Practice.

 

What You Will Do

·        Independently devise project concepts and design all aspects of a project from the architectural interior design to the FFE

·        Present design concepts to the client and participate in client meetings throughout the life of the project

·        Oversee and/or participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting

·        Oversee and/or generate ID drawings, specifications, and material selections needed for construction

·        Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators

 

Qualifications

·        Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an NCARB or a CIDA or accredited school

·        5-7 years hospitality interior design experience

·        Completed at least one full hotel project and one full restaurant project, more preferred

·        Spa experience a plus, but not required

·        Provide knowledge of NYC FF&E vendors and resources to the team and client

·        High taste level, excellent color sense, and great passion for hospitality design

·        Excellent graphic design, organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills

·        Familiar with hospitality-related ADA compliance and building codes

·        Proficiency in Spexx a plus

·        Facility with 3D conceptualization (digitally or by hand)

·        Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Revit and Bluebeam
