Gensler’s San Antonio Project Office is seeking a creative, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as an interior designer focused primarily on interiors projects. This position will participate as an integral team member on architectural projects, and potentially on interior projects, throughout the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
  • Collaborate closely with design team, clients, consultants, contractors and vendors.
  • Provide design support for completion and execution of design projects.
  • Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.
  • Participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications.
  • Assist with project team coordination for the plans, specifications and materials.
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and samples as requested.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of interior design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of interior design or architecture.
  • Must have a Professional degree (Masters or Bachelor) in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.  Professional Registration in process or completed.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred
  • Computer skills required include; REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp and other 3D sketch software.  MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Well rounded experience in FF&E specification, as well as construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
  • Collaborative nature and experience with broad project teams
  • Solid communication skills and ability to professionally interact with colleagues and clients
  • Good judgment and ability to work within defined schedules and task management
  • Must be able to multi-task, be a team player, possess a can-do attitude, and be a self-starter
