Project Accountant :

The Project Accountant is responsible for providing a solid foundation of analysis for projects and business practices by managing contracts, ensuring fiscal health of assigned projects, and mentoring and supporting the project management for Bangalore office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers to establish successful business relationships and ensure accurate billing and financial reporting at the project and office levels.
  • Maintain organized project contract files.
  • Understand contract terms as it relates to fee management.
  • Assist Project Managers in evaluating project start-up due diligence and following firm best practices throughout the project cycle .
  • Interact with clients and consultants on a regular basis.
  • Review project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans to ensure that the details within the framework.
  • Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms .
  • Coordinate consultant invoices and payments per contract terms.
  • Review project labor and expense charges with Project Managers for accuracy .
  • Creating Dashboards and metrics as and when required.
  • Monitor studio accounts receivable and assist Project Managers with fee collection efforts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on variety of metrics at the office level to promote healthy business practices.
  • Provide training to Project Managers regarding financial maintenance of projects.
  • Perform review of all expenses charged to projects including employee expense reports.
  • Embrace new technologies and constantly strive for greater efficiencies through process or technology.

 

Skills  / Qualifications:

  • Either MBA in Finance or a Chartered Accountant ( even those who are working towards the CA qualification can apply).
  • Minimum 4-8 years of experience in a service based organization, preferably with an architecture or design firm.
  • Experience in Project Accounting would be a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at different organization levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple pressing requirements .
  • Good written and verbal communication skills .
  • Proficient in Excel, prior experience with Deltek Vision software preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and organized approach to work .
  • Must be a self-starter, and a great team player.
