DESCRIPTION:

Project Architect

Gensler's Baltimore office is seeking a Project Architect with base building and interiors experience. As a Project Architect at Gensler, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.

Qualifications: 

Manages, organizes and coordinates project teams and team assignments to complete architectural projects, responsible for ensuring that construction documents are in concert with design intent, responsible for project schedules and budgets. Resolves complex technical/design issues and provides guidance to team. Possess strong skills in architectural detailing. Coordinates activity and communication between project team, engineering consultants and other disciplines. Strong knowledge of building codes and structures. Communicates effectively with AHJs.  Communicates effectively with contractors and understands materials and methods of construction.  Reviews Contractor Bids, Proposed Change Orders, Applications for Payment and understands standard AIA documents. Strong experience in architectural practice with management experience in leading diverse project teams. Full knowledge of architectural principles and practices. Good communication and management skills. MUST submit work samples along with your resume and cover letter to be considered. 

Requirements:

  •  5 - 7 years of experience as a project architect with a strong background in buildings and interior architecture
  •  Professional Degree in Architecture required
  •  Architectural Registration preferred
  •  LEED accreditation is essential
  •  Strong Revit experience, MS Office, Masterworks, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCad a plus
  •  Extensive experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  •  Knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques is required
  •  Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning, accessibility, and generally knowledgeable in jurisdictional processes
  •  Essential knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work.
