**Job Summary**

AECOM has a great opportunity for a

**Senior Electrical Engineer** supporting our program in Annapolis Junction, MD. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the discipline engineering to meet customer and project requirements regarding scope, scheduling and budget. And will act as a liaison between discipline engineers and Project Engineering Managers and between Project Managers and Chief Discipline Engineer with respect to project scope, budget, scheduling and overall engineering and design requirements and employee administration. The Senior Electrical Engineer will coordinate the discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines; maintain records, files and other documents pertaining to the discipline; assume responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required; assign preparers and checkers for discipline design documents (or other deliverable) and coordinates review with other disciplines’ design documents; establish schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval; maintain technical coordination with the Chief Discipline Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices; prepare and submit periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline; comply with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested; continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training; advise the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems; provide Chief Discipline Engineer input on employees’ development, evaluations, potential promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group; lead the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget; able to lead all aspects of project estimating for a discipline for proposal preparation; responsible for performance management and mentoring; provide assistance to projects to address technical issues related to process improvement; assist in the development of training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions as appropriate; create positive working relationships with peer leaders; create productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering; and perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in electrical engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

+ 7+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering for facilities design.

+ Candidate must have a high technical competency in electrical engineering for facility design, operation and maintenance.

+ Must have an understanding of other disciplines and how they interface electrically.

+ Good oral and written communication skills required.

+ A working knowledge of MS Office applications and electrical engineering specific software such as E-tap or SKM and lighting analysis software applications is required.

+ Have good organizational skills and the ability to plan out large tasks to be performed by multiple engineers and designers for integration into one overall coherent project document.

+ Perform detail-oriented electrical design work as required.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

+ Must be able to travel as needed.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Active, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly is preferred.

+ Professional Engineering license is preferred.

+ Prior DOD and CONUS Facilities experience is a strong plus.

+ Experience with protective device selection and coordination, Time-Current Curves (TCCs) and Arc Flash Reduction Maintenance Settings (ARMS).

+ Experience with analytical skills and recovery of failure of Low Voltage/Amp Circuit Breakers (LVACBs), Overcurrent Relays (OCRs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) for known problems or during unscheduled events (e.g. outages).
