**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Engineer for immediate employment for the Omaha, NE office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out structural engineering tasks

+ Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

+ Prepare structural engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

+ Develop structural details, plans and specifications

+ Prepare technical reports

+ Field related work including site visits, material and data collection, bridge and site structure inspections

+ Participate in continuing education activities

+ Collaborate with team and other discipline members on project development

+ Perform structural analysis and design for bridge related structures

+ Perform calculations with respect to code compliance (AASHTO, AREMA, AWS, ASTM, etc.) and project specific standards and requirements

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

+ Certified as an EIT, with the intent of taking the professional engineering exam or structural engineering exam at the time experience meets the requirements of either

+ 2+ years of experience

+ Must have a desire to work with structural type tasks and projects which mostly involve railroad bridge design, Highway bridge design, and other miscellaneous structural tasks that include design for shoring, retaining wall, and general foundation calculations

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work successfully in a team atmosphere

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Proficiency in Steel and Concrete Design

+ Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

+ Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

+ Experience with STAAD and/or other structural analysis programs

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability and willingness to perform field work (bridge inspections, site visits, etc)
